Data protection 

The information you provide on the Registration Form may be passed to the Skills Funding Agency (the SFA) which is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. The registration is primarily for the collection and analysis of statistical data The SFA will collect and share this information with other organisations for the purpose of administration, careers and other guidance, statistical and research purposes. Further information about data confidentiality is available upon request from the centre at which you are enrolled or from the SFA website. 

Important notice

Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information given in the literature and website issued by the JD Training. Please note that these documents are merely a guide to our course provision and we cannot guarantee its provision in the event of circumstances beyond its control but, in such an event, will endeavour to provide an alternative where possible. However, we reserve the right to cancel, combine or re-schedule courses and to make changes to the contact, teaching and assessment provided on any course and to any facilities offered. 

JD Training will not be liable to any user of its services or facilities for any indirect or consequential loss which may be suffered by you as a result of any breach by JD Training of any obligations to the user or any other act or omission of the JD Training or its employees.


Student registration conditions

1. Variation/cancellation of courses

The contents of the course are believed to be correct and to reflect the current state of knowledge. JD Training reserves the right to make alterations to courses, teachers, fees or venues without prior notice provided such alterations shall not substantially affect the course content or qualification and such alterations shall, at best, only entitle the participant to reimbursement of course fees paid if such adjustments substantially differ from the advertised programme.

JD Training reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses at their discretion if in the opinion of JD Training there are insufficient registrations or attendees. In such cases the participant shall be offered transfer to an alternative course.

If not appropriate/acceptable a credit note or a full refund of course fees will be made. In such cases JD Training liability shall be restricted to a reimbursement of any fees paid to JD Training.

In the event of cancellation of courses or classes for a reason outside the control of JD Training, JD Training shall be under no obligation to provide any reimbursement. 

2. Attendance

If you cannot attend your course but wish to continue on the programme, you should inform JD Training immediately. If you fail to do so we reserve the right to offer your place to an applicant on our waiting list, and you may forfeit any fees paid.

3. Copyright

The copyright in all material provided by JD Training shall (unless expressly stated or otherwise) remain vested in JD Training and may not be reproduced without JD Training's specific written consent. The copyright in, and any work produced, by the students as part of the course, shall remain with JD Training and work may be retained at the discretion of JD Training for display or promotional activities.

4. Liability and insurance

JD Training shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by a student in connection with the provision of any course or service except in the case of death, personal injury or loss suffered as a result of JD Training's negligence. 

JD Training shall not be liable to the student for any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of JD Training's obligations, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond JD Training's reasonable control. 

JD Training does not insure students' personal belongings and students are responsible for making appropriate provision in respect of insurance arrangements to protect their property and person.

5. Contract

Upon signing JD Training's Student Form the student enters into a legally binding contract with the JD Training. You have the right to cancel your registration at no cost within seven days of receipt of your application by JD Training. Such cancellation must be in writing to JD Training. Where you have signed up to a qualification course, and where this course has been entirely funded due to your job seeking status, it is expected that you will participate in at least one of our employability programmes as a condition of undertaking this course of study with JD Training.  

NOTE: Nothing in these Terms and Conditions of Registration affects your statutory rights. 


Financial terms and conditions

1. Payment terms

Settlement is due on registration. Places will not be held without payment. Settlement in full or in part by agreement with JD Training will ensure that your name appears on the course register. 

2. Interest

JD Training reserves the right to charge interest at the current Bank of England base rate plus 2% per month if payment is not made by the due date of payment.

3. Withdrawal from course

All fees agreed on registration will be due regardless of whether a student later withdraws from the course. This includes where fees are being covered by 24+ Learning Loans, as the loans will terminate at the point of withdrawal and the learner will assume full liability for all outstanding fees to JD Training, as well as repayments to the loans provider.   

4. Reimbursement

Once registered, a student is liable for the fee identified in this agreement regardless of whether they subsequently decide to withdraw from the course. Reimbursement in whole or in part for fees paid will only be considered in truly exceptional cases. All applications for reimbursement should be made in writing. Appropriate supporting documentation must be attached (e.g. medical certificates).

JD Training reserves the right to make a deduction of £25 or 15% (whichever is the greater) from such reimbursements to represent the administration and other cost to JD Training occasioned by the student's withdrawal.  If JD Training requires a student to leave for reasons of conduct, the student will remain liable for the whole amount agreed at registration.

5. Credit notes

Credit notes in whole or in part may be obtained for course withdrawal for reasons agreed between the student and JD Training. Credit notes may be valid for a one year period from the date of issue and are not transferable subject to JD Training's discretion. 

6. Fee reductions

Fee reductions will only be applicable to specific courses only and to students meeting the criteria as laid down in application process. Evidence must be provided.

7. Receipts

Receipts will be provided for all monies paid to JD Training except where payment is made through BACS or standing order.

8. Certificates

Where successful completion of courses result in the award of a certificate, JD Training reserves the right to withhold the issue of certificates where fees or other amounts are due to JD Training. Once balances are cleared, certificates will be released. 

9. Non acceptance of applicants

JD Training reserves the right not to accept applicants or registrations from individuals or sponsors where fees or other costs from previous courses remain outstanding until such time as all outstanding fees or other outstanding costs are paid.

10. Non-payment of fees

In addition to the terms of clause 9 above, JD Training reserves the right to terminate a registration at any time during the life of a course where fees are outstanding or where any agreed instalment payment defaults. In the event of JD Training exercising the right to terminate a registration, the person concerned has a right of appeal under the terms of JD Training Appeals Procedure.

JD Training may take legal action for the recovery of monies due and in such circumstances JD Training reserves the right to make charges of up to £250 to represent the administration and other costs to JD Training occasioned by the non-payment.
